BE STILL AND
LISTEN
You
do not have to be in Church to feel the presence of God. To
be sure, Holy Scripture is very clear that we are to be a
member of a Christian Church and should attend on a regular
basis to Worship and Praise God through His only Son Jesus
Christ. And the Father fully expects us to do so and gave
us His Spirit to make possible..
However,
when God created the Heavens and the Earth, He planned and
put into being all that we see, hear, and feel. At this time
of the year (March 2001) Spring has started and so many items
God created are there for us to enjoy. The beautiful flowers
that bloom. The varied songs that birds sing. The warmth of
the Sun. The cool breeze of the day. The glorious view of
the Universe in the night sky. The majesty of the mountains
and the oceans. Live creatures to view and marvel at their
God given ability to fly - to swim - to do the many things
that took man many, many years to accomplish. Praise be to
God. How very fortunate we are !
My
favorite Psalm (Psalm 8) says it all so well. Read every word!
We are so very fortunate to have so many splendors to enjoy
- and they are FREE. I just love free. Don't you ? No expensive
tickets. No standing in line. - Just pause from our busy days
and observe.
God
is here, there, and everywhere.
Be still and listen to Him.

PUT YOURSELF THERE
Your
body is a great example of God's magnificant creation.
The many parts are a marvel in itself.
Just think of the heart, the pump of life.
The brain is the motherboard of all our movements.
Our legs and feet move us where we go
and have incredible balance and control.
And our hands. Yes, our hands.
Our
hands do so much
- such a variety of necessary body requirements.
Pause right now for a moment and think about what
all your hands do for you.
[ Take time to make a mental list of all the things
you do with your hands.]
Now
do this . . .
- - take the time to put yourself in Jesus's place
those many years ago.
Feel the betrayal He endured and the unbearable
pain and suffering He underwent prior to the actual
nailing of the body. Don't just read the words.
Feel the spikes pentrating your own hands
and the hurt it must have been.
Then feel the weight of your body
pulling down on your hands
trying to tear them from your body.
Only the spikes through your feet help keep you
nailed to the cross.
Often
we don't really consider how much pain
He endured for you and me.
We read Scripture and move on.
Pause again and feel .
